Space Maintainers
When a tooth or multiple teeth are lost prematurely, a space maintainer is necessary to preserve the space for permanent teeth until they erupt. By maintaining this space, space maintainers help reduce the likelihood of needing braces in the future.
We offer two types of space maintainers:
1. In-House Space Maintainers
These are fabricated in-office using pre-made parts.
They are recommended for replacing a single missing tooth space.
2. Lab-Made Space Maintainers
These are created by an external lab after we take an impression of the patient’s teeth.
Although the process takes longer, lab-made space maintainers are preferred when multiple teeth are missing in the same arch.
